STEVEN KOONS MHI, BSN, RN, CPTC

Steven Koons (he/they) is a highly accomplished and passionate Registered Nurse with 9 years of experience in various settings including ICU, organ donation and transplantation, and human resources. Throughout his career, he has worked diligently to provide exceptional patient care and has become an expert in his field.

In addition to his clinical experience, Steven has also worked as a Talent Acquisition Consultant for nurses in a Level I Trauma Center, where he used his expertise to identify and recruit top nursing talent to provide the highest level of care to patients.

Currently, Steven serves as a Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator, where he is responsible for facilitating the organ transplant process and providing compassionate care to donors and their families. He has also pursued advanced education, obtaining a Master's degree in Healthcare Innovation, which has allowed him to remain at the forefront of the latest developments in healthcare.

Steven is committed to giving back to his profession and community. He serves on the Board of Directors for the Indiana State Nurses Association and works on their DEI Committee, where he uses his voice and expertise to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in the nursing profession. He also volunteers for the Pointer Rescue Organization, which is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming pointers in need.

JOHN W. COBERG II MA

John Coberg (he/they) is a dedicated and enthusiastic advocate and researcher in the field of human sexuality. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Health and a Master's degree in Medical Sociology. John has worked in various roles, including medical case management for an AIDS Service Organization, research assistant and graduate program coordinator in the LGBTQ+ Center in higher education. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Human Sexuality and serves as the Internship Coordinator for the Center for Positive Sexuality, where he provides guidance and support to interns as they gain practical experience in the field.

Throughout his career, John has been deeply involved in working with people living with HIV and is a vocal advocate for HIV decriminalization. He collaborates closely with policymakers and community organizers to challenge the laws and attitudes surrounding HIV.

Beyond his work on HIV, John's research interests include BDSM, sexual folklore, and promoting medically accurate and inclusive sexual health education. He firmly believes that creating a more comprehensive and inclusive understanding of sexuality is essential for a fair and equitable world. He also volunteers for the Pointer Rescue Organization, which is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming pointers in need.

With his wealth of personal experience and academic expertise, John is a valuable and respected figure in the field of human sexuality. He is committed to promoting the well-being and empowerment of individuals, regardless of their gender identity, sexual orientation, or HIV status.
